Pro Spex is well known for providing quality inspections for residential and commercial clients. Since 2003, Pro Spex has worked to build a team of inspectors who value the clients we serve. We have performed inspections on residential additions & renovations, pre-purchased properties, new construction, and commercial inspections of schools, churches and office buildings. Radon testing, mold testing, and sewer scope testing are additional services we provide for clients in the Metropolitan DC area.

Home inspections can be an emotional roller coaster for our clients. Our inspectors play a key part in our customers' decision-making, and our ability to respond to various situations is incredibly important.

 

We are looking for licensed MD and VA inspectors to fill several roles in our company. Because of the physical demands and the large service area we cover, inspectors should be physically fit and willing to travel. All inspectors must be eligible to work in the US. Because we go in and out of private homes, all employees must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.

Military Housing Inspector

Military Housing

Pro Spex is part of a team that has been awarded a contract to inspect military housing (approx. 90,000 units) throughout the US. Each inspection is a "Limited Inspection" (No climbing roofs, opening panels etc.). This is a visual inspection similar to what we calla walk-thru inspection, and takes about 45-60 minutes. This is a short-term, on-call employment position. To fulfill this role, inspectors must be flexible, able to travel throughout the US. It is expected that inspectors who perform well can expect multiple assignments that could last several years. All training, tools and travel related expenses are covered. If you have completed the InterNachi Training, but have not applied for your license, you can still apply.

All inspectors will be trained in the proprietary inspection application, and project procedures required to successfully execute this important contract. All tools will be provided.

 

Requirements:

  • Home Inspector License (Required)

  • InterNACHI (CPI) Required if State does not issue License

  • US Citizen - Required

  • Must pass Army Military Base security vetting - Required

  • Physically fit - Required

 

Compensation Range: (the following are projected annual gross earnings and are not guaranteed)

  • $52,400 - $104,000 Depending on experience. and willingness to travel

  • All travel related expense covered (Hotel, Airfare, Rental Car etc.)

  • Allowance for meals included.

     

Based on current discussions, the following bases will make up Phase One of the inspections to be conducted in the first year:

Lead Inspector

Lead Inspector

The Lead Inspector works closely with Management, reporting bi-weekly at a minimum. This position requires the Inspector to lead a team of Residential and Commercial Building Inspectors compliant with state standards, following the Pro Spex System, and using the latest Home Inspection software. Primary responsibility is ensuring reports issued meet company standards. In addition to performing Inspections, this position will require training Junior Inspectors, performing QC review of inspector reports (Home and Commercial, Termite, Radon, Underground Sewer, New Construction), meeting with customers to resolve issues, and acting as an expert witness when the need arises. This is a salaried position with benefits and company vehicle.

The Lead Inspector must be available to Monday through Friday. There is a minimum three (3) year commitment after completing the Pro Spex Training Program.

Requirements:

  • Maryland (MD) & Virginia (VA) Home Inspector License

  • Minimum five (5) years Home Inspector experience

  • Commercial Property Condition Assessment experience

  • (5) Year Residential Construction Inspection Experience

  • InterNachi CPI

  • Member CCPIA

  • Level 1 Thermographer or higher (preferred)

  • Good driving record

  • Eligible to work in the US

  • Must be fully vaccinated (proof required)

Compensation Range:
Dependent on experience and certifications ($60k-90k)) plus performance bonus

Junior Inspector

This position requires the Inspector to perform residential and commercial inspections for buyers, sellers, owners, and investors compliant with state standards, following the Pro Spex System, and using the latest home inspection software. Currently preference will be given to Inspectors with field experience and certifications in radon, mold, termite and framing inspections.

To be considered for the position, you must be licensed in either Maryland or Virginia and have work towards having both licenses within 3 months. There is a minimum 2-year commitment after completing the Pro Spex Training Program.

Requirements:

  • Maryland (MD) and Virginia (VA) Home Inspector License

  • Minimum two (2) years Home Inspector experience

  • InterNachi CPI

  • Good driving record

  • Eligible to work in the US

  • Must be fully vaccinated (proof required)

Compensation Range:
Dependent on experience and certifications: ($30-45/hr)

Entry Level Inspector

Entry Level Inspector

This position requires the Apprentice to assist in performing residential and commercial inspections for buyers, sellers, owners, and investors compliant with state standards, following the Pro Spex System, and using the latest home inspection software. Successful performance as an apprentice can be considered for a position as a Junior inspector. Currently, preference will be given to new inspectors with some field experience, who are willing to travel. This is a physically demanding, people-oriented business. If you enjoy being on the move, meeting new people, and helping them make life-long decisions, this is the position for you!

As a company, we are big believers in the use of technology to provide the best customer experience and provide accurate, detailed information. Inspectors receive training in the use of IR cameras, drones and other tools necessary to complete a Pro Spex Home Inspection.

​

To be considered for the position, you must have completed the National Home Inspector Exam, and met all state requirements for a licensed Home inspector. Interested persons must have a reliable vehicle and a good driving record, as well as be eligible to work in the US. Must be available to assist in performing inspections Monday through Friday (weekends optional). All new inspectors are required to complete our training program and follow the Pro Spex System. There is a minimum 2-year commitment after completing the Pro Spex Training Program.

 

Compensation:
($15-25/hr) depending on completed certifications (Radon, Infrared, Mold etc.)

 

Variable hours:
Initial 4-6 hours/day while training (2-4 months)

 

Continuing Education:
Company sponsored Specialized Training (Infrared, mold, New Construction etc.)

Paid MAHI, or NACHI membership dues
